摘要:100G技术无疑将成为下一代传输网的一项关键技术。下一代传输网在提供巨大的传输容量的同时也将提供稳健的运行能力和灵活的控制能力以适应不断增长的全球互联网通讯量的动态需求。目前系统生产商正致力于研发100G产品,并努力避免不久前40G产品开发中的失误。在本演讲中我们将和各位分享Verizon在光纤网络上进行的多次100G试验成果。我们也将和其他运营商探讨下一代传输网的特性要求,并和对100G有关产品感兴趣的生产商共同展望100G的技术和产业前景。

100G Technology and Business Outlook


Abstract: 100G will be, for sure, the key technology for the next generation transport network. The next generation platform will provide huge capacity with robust performance and flexible controllability to meet the demands of continuing growth of the global dynamic Internet traffic. While the system suppliers are paying a lot of attentions to 100G product development, they are also trying hard to avoid some mistakes in business occurred in the previous 40G product development. In this talk we are going to share the results of the study on several 100G technologies conducted in Verizon fiber networks. We will also discuss the performance and features of the next generation transport network with other carriers and the outlook of the 100G technology and business with the potential 100G related product suppliers.

 夏铁君简历

  夏铁君博士是光通讯技术方面的专家,具有多年研究开发和技术创新的经历。夏博士目前是美国Verizon公司的高级技术专家,从事光传输网络技术的开发。同时也担任德州大学达拉斯分校工程学院的客座教授和斯泰创投公司的资深顾问。在加入Verizon之前夏博士曾是Chorum公司网络技术研发部的负责人。在Chorum之前曾在MCI公司研发新一代光传输技术。在加入MCI之前曾是密西根大学电机系的专职研究员。在2007年,夏博士领导了世界上首次100G光信号在现存光网络上的实时载荷传输试验。他也是工业论坛AFCS的共同创办人。夏博士拥有美国中佛罗里达大学的博士学位,浙江大学的硕士学位,和中国科技大学的学士学位。他发表过一百多篇论文并拥有三十多项已批准和待批准的美国专利。

 

Tiejun (TJ) Xia’s Bio

Dr. Tiejun (TJ) Xia is an expert of photonic technologies and optical communications with more than twenty years of experience in research, development, and technical innovation. He is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff with Verizon Communications where his responsibility is optical transport network technology development. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at University of Texas at Dallas and a Mentor Advisor at STARTech Early Ventures. Recently he served as a Director for Network Technology Development at Chorum Technologies, where he managed advanced R&D activities for photonic systems. Prior to Chorum, he worked with MCI Communications for next generation optical transmission technologies. Before joining MCI, he was a research faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan. In 2007, TJ led the industry’s first live traffic 100G trial. He is a co-founder of the industrial forum Advanced Fiber Connectivity & Switching (AFCS). TJ holds his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the University of Central Florida, M.S. degree from Zhejiang University, and B.S. degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. He has published more than 100 technical papers and holds more than 30 granted or pending U.S. patents.
